You will be able to find up to date information on relevant and topical issues for trainees in Bariatric surgery to complement the information on courses, meetings and fellowships which can be found elsewhere on this site. We aim to add to this this with feedback on training in regular online publications.
Trainee Representative
The BOMSS council appreciate their trainee membership and want to involve trainees in the development of the society. The BOMSS trainee membership continues to grow and, at the last AGM, it was agreed to have a new position for a trainee representative. This gives the trainees the privilege of a voice on the council for the first time and the responsibility to help make bariatric surgery fit for the future.
The current Trainees Representative is Mr Alan Osborne and he can be contacted via Nichola Coates, Specialty Manager, in the BOMSS office at nichola@augis.org
Training Day
The inaugural BOMSS Training Day was held in Bristol in 2012 and a second Training Day was held in Glasgow in January 2013. Both were a great success with contributions from distinguished speakers, lively debates on best practice, a careers advice session, talks on MDTs, case study discussions and the chance to work on the latest simulators.
